287 North by the Red River Photography Club
The Red River Photography Club invites you on a photographic journey along highway 287 in North Texas. Each town, from Decatur to Clarendon, has its own unique character and history. Some are yet vibrant communities while for others, their lights barely burn. Regardless of stature, each of these towns has contributed to the rich legacy of North Texas. 20 photographers have spent the last 12 months photographing 21 cities and towns that dot this 230+ mile section of road.
Each town was accompanied by fun facts about its history and/or residents that bring life to the still photos.
North Texas 287 opened at the RRVM with a grand reception to a crowd of over 40 people on August 20th. Artist’s and visitors attending were welcomed warmly thanks to the museum’s board of directors and volunteers work creating a gorgeous, and delicious, spread of appetizers! The evening was filled with conversations on photography, history, and fond memories about the towns displayed throughout the gallery.
